The Electric Light Orchestra has been one of my favorite bands for a long time. They broke up in 1986, but now they're back! Jeff Lynne has re-formed the band. First the ELO box set Flashback (which includes unreleased material) came out, and in June 2001, a new album, Zoom, was released. On April 20, 2001, thanks to Rob Caiger from Face the Music and Lynn Hoskins from Showdown, the ELO mailing list, I was lucky enough to be able to attend ELO's VH-1 Storytellers taping. It was a very special night! There are some pictures from that day on Jeff-Lynne.org's Storytellers page. I'm in one of them; I'm the redhead in the "Rob C playing CDs to fans" picture.
After ELO broke up in 1986, drummer Bev Bevan formed a new band, ELO Part II. I first saw ELO Part II on July 17, 1993; pictures from the show are on my ELO Part II pictures page. Bev left the band in November 1999, and they changed their name to the Orchestra. The Orchestra features former ELO members Kelly Groucutt and Mik Kaminski, ELO's string arranger Louis Clark, and Eric Troyer, Parthenon Huxley, and Gordon Townsend. The Orchestra's first album, No Rewind, was first made available on their October 2001 UK tour. I took pictures at their show at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut on June 4, 2005.
